Waves
A wave is a disturbance that transfers energy from one place to another. the wave travels energy in the direction it travels. Also the disturbance can be in differents directions.
A medium is the material which the wave travels.
In the next paragraph i will explain some types of waves
Mechanical Waves
Mechanical waves require a medium , some mechanicals waves can be travel more than one medium. also can not be travel without a medium. Example of an mechanical waves can be the vocal sound of an singer or music sound.
VOCAL SOUND
MUSIC SOUND
Electromagnetic waves
The electromagnetic wave is the one that came from the sunlight. Example the fire like if you are in the middle of an island and you have a mirror and the sun still there you can make fire, and another example is the lantern or the light bulb.
FIRE
LIGHT BULB
Longitunal Waves
the particles move back and forth in the same direction that the wave travels, Longitudinal waves cause the medium to vibrate parallel to the direction of the wave. The speed of the longitudinal wave is increased in higher index of refraction, due to the closer proximity of the atoms in the medium that is being compressed.
Transverse Wave
In a tranverse wave , the particles move in a perpendiculary to the direction that the wave travels. A transverse wave is a moving wave that consists of oscillations occurring perpendicular (or right angled) to the direction of energy transfer.
